Saturday Write-In Workshops
Writing may be largely a solo endeavor, but it doesn’t have to be lonely. Wanting to establish a regular writing practice? Write alongside others? Be inspired?
Caravan Writers Collective has your back. We know the beauty, in terms of creativity and connection, that comes from writing groups. Our Saturday Drop-In Workshops, hosted by one of the CW instructors, are like hitching your wagon to those of fellow writers and going for a ride that may take your writing to places you never imagined.

Monthly Lit Labs
Caravan’s Lit Labs bring together the crucial elements of a writing class—creative community and a practical focus on literary craft—for a two-hour session each month.
Lit Labs are high impact but low-key, including an informal craft talk by Caravan teachers and esteemed guests, group discussion, and generative writing time during which attendees can put that month's craft topic into practice with focused prompts.
Lit Labs are not workshops; they're a chance for writers at all levels of experience and expertise to spend time in community and sharpen their skills in the fundamentals of craft.

Ask Working Writers Panels
We know writers have questions. And answers aren’t easy to come by. Our free live Ask Working Writers Panels will help us find the most up-to-date, practical information together. Whatever your writing goals—whether it’s deepening your practice, taking your writing to the next level, creating publishable work and pitching it, finding an agent and landing a book deal, or anything in between—guidance from writers with experience can make all the difference in the world.
Come with questions. Leave with the perspectives of four career writers/editors.
Save the date to circle up for the first panel
Topic TBA, August 30, 1:30 pm-3:30 pm PSTÂ /Â 4:30 pm-6:30 pm EDT (free).
The Build Series
Caravan’s ongoing series of co-taught courses designed with curious, adventurous writers in mind is like a multi-course dinner with each session served up by a different Caravan instructor.
The series kicks off with the four-week course Build-an-Essay in August.
Four Sundays, 11 am-1 pm PDT / 2 pm-4 pm EDT, 8/3, 8/10, 8/17, 8/24.
The Caravan instructors will walk you through the fundamentals of genre and form, jumpstart your work with generative prompts, offer tools and guidance as you develop the draft, and help you rework and revise, sending you on your way with a full-length piece.
Whether you’re new to the form—poets who want to write essays, we’re looking at you—or looking for a way to reboot your writing practice and sharpen your skills, the structure, accountability, energy, and creative community you’ll find in this series will benefit you.
Keep an eye out for the next in the series: Build-a-Poem will run this fall.
Looking forward to this Saturday!!
